Gallium is extremely rare and primarily extracted as a by-product of zinc and aluminum. The leading primary producers of Gallium are China, Germany, Kazakhstan and Ukraine. About 95% of world gallium consumption is used in gallium arsenide for electronic components, such as semiconductors.
